do flies shed their legs when they die?

(i would imagine not).

a dead fly has been laying on one of my notebooks by my computer for a few days now. it's legs are strewn about it. i certainly didn't, and i don't think my roomate is the type, to pluck the legs from a dead fly. it is a mystery. i've left it there all this time because i wanted to write about it. it's picturesque in a lonely, tortured sort of way. but it's been there long enough. and this is all i have to say about it.
